No promotions given...
The first lesson I learned as a young woman in the corporate world:
No one will ask you these questions:
Do you want a raise?
Do you want a company car?
Would you agree to take a higher position?
The baby needs to start crying to get some food. So you need to start asking to get some more.
How?
It’s not about working hard. The hard worker will only get more work.
Simple steps I follow:
Walk the extra mile: take more responsibilities.
Deliver: aim for results, not perfection.
Take credit: bring your results in front of leaders’ eyes.
Repeat.
When the opportunity knocks, ask for more.
You’ll have the face for it.
